Ghost Stories - 5th (and final!) story

"There were once three friends. Their names were Hanna, Aia, and Hiro. They did everything together. Truly, they were the bestest of friends.
"Aia was a beautiful young woman. Her hair was as black as night, and her eyes were a warm deep brown. Her skin was as white as snow, and her step was light and dainty.
"Hanna was kind and strong-willed. Her hair was a short black bob, fun and cheery, her eyes chocolate brown, and she had slightly tanned skin. Her stride was sure and strong.
"Hiko was the kindest of all of them. He had a twinkle in his black eyes, and his friends loved his charming smile and gentle touch. They each fell deeply in love, both Aia and Hanna wishing Hiko was theirs. Hiko, in the end, fell in love with Aia.

"However, Aia's family was much too high class for her to marry Hiko. And Hanna's father was already looking for a man strong enough for the fields and kind enough for his daughter. He arranged for Hiko and Hanna to be married.
"So their wedding day came. Hiko was not truly in love with Hanna, but he was happy enough with her. She was his friend. He moved in with Hanna. Hanna worked in the fields all day, but Hiko would stop halfway through the day to take a break. Hanna didn't mind. She was as happy as she could ever be.
"One day Hanna finished early. She came inside, looking for Hiko. She was approaching their room when she froze. There were voices inside. The voices of Aia and Hiko. She had caught them together! In her own room!
"At midnight Hanna went out. She climbed the stone stairs up, up, up until she was standing on a large hill which overlooked the village. The temple of the war god sat atop this hill. Hanna's family for many years had come to this temple with their troubles. Hanna hoped for something. She called upon the war god.
"'O god, what shall I do? I have seen Aia and Hiko together. My two closest friends, and they have betrayed my trust. I have served you for many years, and have never asked anything of you. Please, just this once, help me,' she begged.
"'Your family has served me for many years, and I am grateful. I will do what you ask. Tomorrow at midnight, bring these two here.'
"Hanna agreed and went home. The next day, she met up with her friends. 'Oh dear friends, I have a surprise for you! Come to the shrine atop the hill at midnight, and you will see what I have prepared!'
"Aia and Hiko agreed. That night, the couple walked up to the shrine and looked around for Hanna. They heard a scuffle behind them, and whipped around to see Hanna standing at the top of the steps.
"You two have betrayed everything. My trust, my love, my friendship. You will regret this. O god Hachiman-shin, take these liars!'
"Blue smoke erupted from the temple and slithered toward Aia and Hiko. Aia gripped Hiko's hand and held it tight. Hanna gritted her teeth, catching the action.
"'Hanna, you don't have to do this,' Hiko said. 'Aia and I never meant to hurt you, but you know we always loved each other.'
"Hanna made no action to move. The blue smoke curled around her once-thought friends until she could only see their heads.
"'O god Musubi, curse this woman! She punishes us for loving! Is that a crime? She is blinded by hate and has killed her own friends!' Aia yelled just as the smoke enveloped her and dragged her and Hiko into the temple, never to be seen again.
"Suddenly a handsome young man appeared before Hanna. 'Hanna, you have killed your two closest friends for being in love. I am the god of love, I cannot allow that. You have been cursed. You will meet people who you think might be your friends. Just as they are getting close to you, they will betray you, and you shall kill them by twisting their heads backward."
